Trip Information
- Sunscreen - We recommend bringing SPF 50 sunscreen to all of our clients. A day on the water can quickly be ruined by too much sun.
- Hat - A long bill or wide brim hat is great for keeping sun off your face while fly fishing. We recommend hats with black or dark fabric under the bill. The dark underside of the bill helps reduce glare, similar to the "eye black" your favorite athlete wears on the field.
- Polarized Sunglasses - After sunscreen and a hat, there is nothing more important to success on the water than a good pair of polarized sunglasses. Your fishing guide recommends amber or copper lenses for the best all around visibility. Even on a cloudy day, this can be key to spotting fish on the flats of Santa Rosa Beach, Destin, and Panama City.
- Rain Gear/Jacket - Weather in the depth of winter or the heat of summer, getting soaked can quickly ruin a trip. We recommend packing a rain gear/jacket on all trips in case of stormy conditions.
- Rods - We will provide all the gear you need for a great day on the water, however if you prefer to bring your own gear we recommend a 6-8 wt rod for inshore/redfish trips, a 10wt for Jacks and cruising the beach, and a 12 wt for Tarpon fishing. We recommend a matched weight forward floating saltwater line for all our clients.
